The Short Version
No sign-up needed to use Don Catador. We don't sell data. We don't store your IP address in plain text. No advertising cookies.
What Data We Collect
Just browsing: We collect the minimum technical data needed to run the site and for internal stats: the page you clicked from to reach a reviewed site, the date, and a one-way hash of your IP that doesn't let us identify you. If we use a service like Cloudflare for protection, it may share your approximate country.
When you submit a form (send a site, contact, or report): whatever you write, like your email, your name if you provide it, and the message content.
When you vote on a review: we store the vote linked to the hashed IP to prevent duplicate votes.
What We Use It For
- Answer your messages and review the sites you send us.
- Investigate reports, especially those involving illegal content.
- Track what sites interest people most and prevent abuse like spam or attacks.
Who We Share It With
With service providers who handle our tech needs like hosting and security, only as required. With authorities when the law demands it or if a report suggests a possible crime against minors or human trafficking.
How Long We Keep It
Messages and submissions for up to 24 months or as long as needed for the purpose. Technical logs of clicks and usage limits, no more than 24 months in aggregated or anonymized form.
Your Rights
You can request access, correction, update, or deletion of your data, and object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. We'll reply within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Cookies
We only use technical cookies. See details in the cookie policy.
Minors
Don Catador is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date on this page.
